Fettuccine with Mushroom Cream Cheese Alfredo Sauce


Ingredients:
  • 2 tbsps butter for frying mushroom
  • 1 pack of mushroom
  • 1 8oz package of cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter for making the sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 6 oz grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh basil leaves or 1 tsp of dried ones
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions:

Cook pasta as per instructions on the box.

Thinly slice the mushrooms.
Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the mushrooms; cook and stir until softened, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
To prepare the sauce, melt the 1/2 cup of butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add cream cheese and stir to melt the cream cheese.
Stir in milk.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add Parmesan cheese, mixing until smooth.
Add in garlic, mushrooms and basil. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add sauce to drained pasta.
Toss well and serve warm.
